Welcome to Pieces of Eve

Post  pieces of eve on Mon Aug 25, 2008 7:00 pm

What's up girls, Pieces of Eve now has a place where we can talk, encourage and meet new friends who are all mom, all woman, but mostly have a heart for Christ. So let's start today's forum with a topic that is part of the purpose of Pieces of Eve....encouragement. For some of us, we NEED it. Others would rather give it...what are your thoughts on encouragement, especially among women/mothers? Do you think it's required of us as christian women? Is it easy for you to give or recieve? Just a few questions to get the discussion rolling Very Happy

So excited to be here:) Anyway, encouragement is one of those things that i need....and i love to give! Sometimes i feel like i need it even more than I give it. This gets me into trouble because I start to put expectations on my family when I should be looking to God for it. In those times I always have to check myself. Does anyone have a scripture they can share regarding encouragement? I thinks as friends and as moms we need to be accountable as far as giving it because not everyone has a friend or a person in their life that gives it- and we all could use it every now and then. We never know what the next person is going through in their life at that moment.

Hey - can really feel the love in here=)
Yes - I need encouragment too!

15For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
16Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Let's go to Jesus - He understands.
BE ENCOURAGED TODAY!

[b][i]Hello ladies, thank you for the invite. I'm pretty busy with the kiddos throughout the day so I log on pretty late...uh its midnight...and then starts "my" day. What somebody oughtta do is encourage me to sleep more. When did life get so hectic, so busy? Encouraging has always been easiest for me. I've always tried to look for the silver linings and happy endings even more so it's an expectation I am placed with, to be an encourager and look as if I need none for myself. So I wear my smiles for all when all the while my own reflection shows none. Life's full of ups and downs but some of those downs can hurt alot more and last alot longer ...if we let them. Several months ago I felt my world crash when my marriage of 10 yrs was threatoned to end as I new it. But it was just until recently that I was able to move forward and onward with Christ as I was recently baptized. I'm learning not to dwell on the past because it only continues to hurt me each time I do and instead I've re-focused on my family, my self and more so and especially on my faith - it's been amazing...the Lord has lifted weights of my shoulders that I thought I needed to bear for all eternity but yet we forget that He has already paid the price and we loose sight of what our true task is - to abide by Christ and to be "Christ like." We are surrounded by a me me selfish me me culture thats thrown us off towards the path of destruction and its a scary thought to think that some of us can't or won't re-focus. It's late - I may just be rambling so forgive me for any foolishness I've said but thank you my fellow GIG's - Girlfriends in God for the encourement to re-focus on the only thing that matters.

welcome gueraZ! i hear you on trying to find time to do this. as you can hopefully see you are not alone in the late night hours. i am right there with ya. i get my second wind late...i think its just to feel like i had some time to myself and can regroup. i then get mad when its like 2 in the morning and i find myself still up cuz i know i'll pay for it. lol. but oh well you get what you get right. some things are priceless. thanks for joining us. too bad we all can't just call each other up and hang out at a moments notice, weren't those the days! so how wonderful is this. we can still chat, keep in touch and share some fellowship. i wanted to share that i do agree with your encouraging nature. it is truly effortless for you and you always pick me up and encourage me. love you bunches! this website has been so wonderful. i love how it helps bridge us together.
